Classroom Expectations
- Come to class on time and prepared to learn (with supplies, completed homework, and good attitude)
- Participate actively during class discussions and group activities
- Be respectful of your classmates, your teacher, your school, and the learning process.
- Ask questions / get extra help as soon you run into problems.
Classroom Management
- Food and drink are allowed provided they do not interfere with learning.
- Headphones and cellphones are NOT to be out in the classroom.
- Per school policy, tardies will be recorded. After the forth tardy, you will be assigned detention.
- Stay seated until dismissed by the teacher.
Homework
Expectations
- Homework is posted on the board and on the class website. Students are responsible for keeping up with assignments.
- Homework should be complete when you enter the classroom.
- Late assignments will be accepted until the day of the unit test.
- Homework should be completed on loose leaf notebook or graph paper in pencil.
- Show all work. Just answers will not be accepted.
- Answers should be circled or boxed.
- Graphs should be created with a straight edge and properly labeled.
- Homework solutions will be posted on the internet. Students are responsible for checking their work.
- Student should grade each homework assignment using the homework completion rubric below. This student assigned grade should be written at the top of the assignment and circled.
Notebook Expectations (Math 1)
- You will be have a 3-ring binder for
math only.
- Your notebook should have the
following information in it.
- In the front: Course syllabus and
notebook expectations
- Classwork: Should include all
classwork. Each page should be dated and include learning target.
- Homework: Should contain all
completed homework. Each homework should be dated and graded for completion.
Homework should be replaced in this section after it has been returned.
- Toolkit: We will create this
together as we go along. This is your summary of your learnings. You will be
allowed to use this on tests, so it is in your interest to keep it as complete
as possible.
- CYU/STM and Quizzes: These
assignments are important summaries that should be kept throughout the year.
- Notebooks will be collected
periodically and checked for a homework grade.
